Hello!
Time for a new tune! This is Jacob's Jig. It has a high G#, but again I've given an alternative. A simple but effective little jig.
Enjoy!

Hello!
A late but timely new tune for you. It's called Julia's Waltz and uses a high B and G# key, but don't worry. Included in the dots are suggestions for how you can get round this is you don't have those extra keys.
Enjoy!

Pachelpiper

Hello!
A tune written for International Bagpipe Day on International Bagpipe Day. I didn't get chance to finish recording it yesterday on the day itself, so here it is today.  It's a tune that uses D drones and A chanter and also needs a high B key.  But I wanted something special for a special day.  The podcast links are above, but you can also listen to the melody on the soundcloud widget below.

The dots of the tune have been corrected, there was an error in it, so if you downloaded your version before the 20th December 2013 - please download the latest version. This has also been updated to included the accompaniment.

The title of the tune needs no explanation - not once you've heard it anyway!
Enjoy!

The Willlows

Hello!
Here is the first teaching blog for 2013.  Hurrah, it's snowing outside and all is cold and white.  Which is nice. :D  This is The Willows and was written by Jonny Dyer.  It's a gorgeous tune, but does really need a high B and G#, but I've suggested alternative notes in the podcast if you don't have those notes.  It shouldn't stop you from playing it.  The Willows is the name of our rural pub, which is hanging in there by the skin of its teeth.
Enjoy!

Hello!
Here is my October 2012 podcast (still catching up)  This is a tune I've played for many years, it was in my Dad's pipe repertoire.  A traditional jig called the Eavesdropper.  (I've not found a composer for it, so if the composer is reading... hello! <waves>.
Enjoy!

Hello!
Here is my September 2012 podcast (Behind again, but still catching up) This is a tune is still sort of part of the previous, previous request, this is the third tune in the Sliptease set and was written by Jonny. We recorded it on Sliptease and it's the third tune of the set. It's a jig, but is essentially the same thematic material as the last two podcasts! Onto something new next time. Enjoy!

Hello!
Here is my June 2012 podcast (catching up slowly!) This is a traditional tune that I learnt from the BBC online session. We recorded it on Gleowien I've focused a little more on grace notes this month. These are very simple grace notes, so feel free to put your own in when you get more confident. I've not put any into the harmony part on the pdf, you can have a go at putting those in. I apologise for the cittra playing - one day I'll realise I really can't play it! Enjoy!
I'll try to get July's podcast up before the end of July!

Polska från Tärnsjö

Hello!
Here is my May 2012 podcast (let's not mention that it's July already, I've still got some catching up to do!) A Swedish tune this time a slängpolska - Polska efter Johan Skedin från Tärnsjö. I learnt this on the nyckelharpa and then played it on my Swedish pipes and finally here it is for the Scottish Smallpipes in A. There's nothing particularly tricky about it, a straight semi-quaver polska in 3/4. Enjoy!
I promise to try to get June's podcast up a little quicker!

Hello!
Here is my podcast for March 2012.  It's a jolly tune from one of albums written by Jonny Dyer.  On the album it's played using my D chanter, so this podcast has been recorded using my A chanter so more people can join in.  The tune is called Turn the Wheel and it's from our album Gleowien (track 10 Vintage Puget, third tune). Enjoy!

Bare Bones

Hello!
It's been far too long since I last made a podcast and I was so inspired after meeting lots of Belgian pipers this week that read my blog, that I decided to record a new podcast. My pipes really didn't like the snow and cold this week, so when we got home from the Netherlands and Belgium they were wrapped up in a duvet and cuddled and given lots of tender loving care. I finally got them in tune enough to record the podcast. This tune is called Bare Bones and it's from our album Gleowien (track 10 Vintage Puget, middle tune). I plan on doing more regular podcasts from now, so watch out for the next tune!
Thanks for listening!
