Hello!
A tune written for International Bagpipe Day on International Bagpipe Day. I didn't get chance to finish recording it yesterday on the day itself, so here it is today. It's a tune that uses D drones and A chanter and also needs a high B key. But I wanted something special for a special day. The podcast links are above, but you can also listen to the melody on the soundcloud widget below.
The dots of the tune have been corrected, there was an error in it, so if you downloaded your version before the 20th December 2013 - please download the latest version. This has also been updated to included the accompaniment.
The title of the tune needs no explanation - not once you've heard it anyway!
Enjoy!
:)

Been referencing your site quite a bit lately, thanks for your work. Just got a set of bellow smallpipes (highland piper) love it. I've turned a couple band mates on to this Pachelpiper tune and we want to work up a version playable on Ghb. Do you have written out the other parts you played on your recording? I would love to donate to the cause a couple of pints for your trouble.
Love the tunes you have posted I've been passing around a few copies of Jacobs jig and Eavesdropper (which pair nicely) gonna see if I can talk my pipe major into making it our new jig set?
Of course. I'll go and dig them out. Mostly it's a canon, so you play the same tune starting at different times. There is a chordal accompaniment. I'll write that out and upload it….
It's done. I've corrected the original dots (there was a missing bar, and added the accompaniment. I hope it all makes sense. So just re-download the dots and away you go. The only slight problem is the high B and the drones. The drones should be Ds rather than As. I have a combined set of SSPs which means I have D and A drones and can choose between the two. A should be ok though, definitely worth giving it a go. The high B could just be missed out.
I've included a suggested way of playing it that would work well with 7 pipers. That would be an awesome sound and I'd love to hear it if you do it!

That is awesome, thank you so much. If I can send you anything for your organist just shout! I can transpose it at the click of a button into Bb for him and include the chord sequence (but that probably is familiar to him!)
:F
(that was supposed to be :D not :F lol!
