Hello!
The third of my Swedish Bagpipe podcasts. A schottis this time, it's a bit scrappy, but the Scottish smallpipes is always tricky to play in an un-natural key.
Another of these soon I hope! :D
God Jul!

Hello!
Here is my October 2012 podcast (still catching up) This is a tune I've played for many years, it was in my Dad's pipe repertoire. A traditional jig called the Eavesdropper. (I've not found a composer for it, so if the composer is reading... hello! <waves>.
Enjoy!

Hello!
Here is my September 2012 podcast (Behind again, but still catching up) This is a tune is still sort of part of the previous, previous request, this is the third tune in the Sliptease set and was written by Jonny. We recorded it on Sliptease and it's the third tune of the set. It's a jig, but is essentially the same thematic material as the last two podcasts! Onto something new next time. Enjoy!

Hello!
Here is my August 2012 podcast (Behind again!) This is a tune is sort of part of the previous request, this is the second tune in the Sliptease set and was written by Jonny. We recorded it on Sliptease and it's the second tune of the set. It's a reel, but is essentially the same thematic material as the last podcast! As this is the second of the three tunes, I'll do the third one next time. Enjoy!

The Cave - Swedish Bagpipes

Hello!
The second of my Swedish Bagpipe podcasts. A polska this time, a triplet or 8-note polska. It's written out with dotted quaver and semi-quavers, but they should be played as triplets, swung, a little like you would do in jazz music. Technically speaking the piece should be written in 9/8, because that is more accurate to how it is played, but I discovered it's actually easier to read it in 3/4. Just make sure you swing it. I hope you love the tune as much as I love it! If you're wondering, the third part is played on my Scottish Smallpipes in A, but I've swapped bits of my drone around to make one of my D drones into an E. I then liberally use my C natural thumb hole and high G# key and avoid all Fs. Another of these soon I hope! :D

Hello!
Here is my July 2012 podcast (I finally caught up!) This is a tune is a request and was written by Jonny. We recorded it on Sliptease and it's the title tune. It's a slipjig (but does work rather well as a polska! There are three tunes in this set, so I'll do all three in time. Enjoy!

Hello!
As a bonus I thought I'd record a tiny little Swedish bagpipe podcast. This tune is a Brudmarsch and I've recorded it with three pipe parts - (only two are Swedish pipe parts though. It's called Skomakaren, which means the Shoe Maker. I'm using Swedish pipes in A (which means that the six finger note and the drone note are actually an E). Enjoy. I hope to record some more of these tunes. :)

Hello!
Here is my June 2012 podcast (catching up slowly!) This is a traditional tune that I learnt from the BBC online session. We recorded it on Gleowien I've focused a little more on grace notes this month. These are very simple grace notes, so feel free to put your own in when you get more confident. I've not put any into the harmony part on the pdf, you can have a go at putting those in. I apologise for the cittra playing - one day I'll realise I really can't play it! Enjoy!
I'll try to get July's podcast up before the end of July!

Hello!
Here is my May 2012 podcast (let's not mention that it's July already, I've still got some catching up to do!) A Swedish tune this time a slängpolska - Polska efter Johan Skedin från Tärnsjö. I learnt this on the nyckelharpa and then played it on my Swedish pipes and finally here it is for the Scottish Smallpipes in A. There's nothing particularly tricky about it, a straight semi-quaver polska in 3/4. Enjoy!
I promise to try to get June's podcast up a little quicker!

Hello!
Here is my podcast for March 2012. It's a jolly tune from one of albums written by Jonny Dyer. On the album it's played using my D chanter, so this podcast has been recorded using my A chanter so more people can join in. The tune is called Turn the Wheel and it's from our album Gleowien (track 10 Vintage Puget, third tune). Enjoy!

Hello!
It's been far too long since I last made a podcast and I was so inspired after meeting lots of Belgian pipers this week that read my blog, that I decided to record a new podcast. My pipes really didn't like the snow and cold this week, so when we got home from the Netherlands and Belgium they were wrapped up in a duvet and cuddled and given lots of tender loving care. I finally got them in tune enough to record the podcast. This tune is called Bare Bones and it's from our album Gleowien (track 10 Vintage Puget, middle tune). I plan on doing more regular podcasts from now, so watch out for the next tune!
Thanks for listening!

Röros Polska - video
Hello!
It really is about time I started to blog again, so here is a movie I've made of a Swedish tune on the Scottish Smallpipes. It's a duet and you can find the dots on our website.
Just some fun really, but a really great Swedish tune.
:)
