Another säckpipa tune from Småland! It's called Hambo Polska and it's from Theodor Freyland's manuscript, Jönköping, Småland. Jönköping is where my family is from, so I was very excited to find this tune!

Kontrabasharpapolskan

Hello!

A great tune, it's a kontrabasharpa tune, but fits so well on the säckpipa that how knows which version came first! So as well as the version on säckpipa I've included it on kontrabasharpa so you can see how it turns out on that instrument! The full title is Kontrabasharpapolskan efter Calle Svankvist. If you wanted to dance to this a bakmes would be appropriate! More about him later!

Cadrill Kozaken

Hello!
I love to find tunes from my home county of Småland and this one is awesome! This is Cadrill Kozaken and it's from Carl-Gustaf Tullbergs manuscript (Högahult, Nöbbele), dated 1822.

Since doing the filming I took this tune to Halsway a couple of weeks ago and we decided that the best way to play it was to start slowly and then speed up until you're going like the clappers! I love this tune!

Time for another polska, this is Skomakarpolskan, not to be confused with Skomakaren. It's a great little polska to help with this particular type of rhythm. I first learnt this on the nyckelharpa and it's just as great on that too!
